Terri Micklin brings over 25 years of retail leadership with expertise in the fuel and convenience industry helping businesses and communities grow with a focus on strategic programs and market share acquisition. Ms. Micklin has specialized retail development experience, with leadership in strategic and market planning, real estate and site acquisition, engineering, design, development, construction, innovation, and innovative store format design and development.
Ms. Micklin has built her career around her personal value statement to always be deserving of trust, demonstrate to others their value, be thoughtful in both approach and decision making, and stack wins to achieve goals. This approach has allowed her to grow throughout her career, taking on more complex and leadership focused positions with each step.
Ms. Micklin currently serves as President of GetGo, the fuel and convenience business under Giant Eagle, Inc. Giant Eagle, Inc., is ranked among the top 40 on Forbes magazine’s largest private corporations list, is one of the nation’s largest food retailers and distributors with approximately $11.1 billion in annual sales. Founded in 1931, Giant Eagle, Inc. has grown to be a leading food, fuel, and pharmacy retailer in the region with more than 470 stores throughout western Pennsylvania, north central Ohio, northern West Virginia, Maryland and Indiana. The GetGo division employs over 3,000 team members and represents over $3 billion in annual sales, over 640 million gallons of fuel, and has 265 stores spanning the operating geographies. Ms. Micklin has been with Giant Eagle since 2022, serving as the SVP of Strategy & Development prior to her current role as President. Her career spans a beginning at Exxon Company, USA though the merger to ExxonMobil Corporation and over 20 years with Wawa, Inc. where she served as the Sr. Director of Construction, Design, and Store Formats and grew the chain from approximately 400 to 1000 stores and introduced business district, small format, drive-in, and drive-thru business models.
Her love for the community carries over to her volunteer activities, supporting organizations from Make-a-Wish, Ronald McDonald Charities, and Habitat for Humanity to volunteering at local organizations and supporting youth sports and education through scholarship programs.
Micklin holds a master’s in engineering from The Johns Hopkins University as well as a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Cornell University. Her continuing education includes the Wharton Executive Development Program, NYU School of Continuing and Professional Studies with a focus on Real Estate Capital Markets, and Harvard Business School Program on Negotiations.
